Your child's christening lasts just one morning. Photos capture fragments of it — a white gown, a hand on a brow, a candle. But the story of that day, the one you'll tell the grown-up child later on, doesn't exist anywhere. Until now.
My Christening Day is a personalised christening book where your child is the hero of their own big day. Their name runs through every page, and so does their face — drawn from the photo you send us. The story follows the real order of the day, exactly as it happened, nothing invented.
The day told in the right order
The morning when the whole house buzzes with excitement, the white outfit being put on, the flowers. The bells and the church door. The godfather and godmother leaning in close. The water — cool and surprising — poured over the forehead. The christening candle being lit and placed in their hands. Then the steps outside, the smiles, the cake. Every moment is shown concretely, because it's by seeing what happens that a child understands what is being celebrated.
The godparents, at the heart of the book
A christening doesn't exist without them. So they're in the book as a matter of course — with their names and their faces: they're the ones who lean in, who hold, who promise to be there. That's what makes this personalised christening gift a book the godmother or godfather can give while appearing in it themselves — a lasting mark of the day they said yes. You can also add a parent or an older sibling alongside them.
We tell the story — we don't teach it
Our creative team writes this book as a story of a day, never as a lesson. No catechism, no doctrine, no theological vocabulary: the church is bright and welcoming, the vicar is warm, the ceremony is gentle and full of light. Meaning comes through gesture — the water, the light, the outstretched arms — not through explanations a four-year-old can't follow.
The same christening, seen through a child's eyes
The story adapts to age. For 0–2 year olds, it's a tender keepsake book, written to be read aloud by a parent — the one who will carry the memory of the day. For 3–5 year olds, the book prepares: the child sees what to expect and approaches the big day without worry. For 6–8 year olds, the story names what's really happening — two people making a promise to be there, for a long time, for real.
