At Real Big Stories, we are parents before we are creators. Protecting your children's privacy is not an "option" — it is the very foundation of our castle.
Data controller
The data controller is the publisher of this site:
- Company name: The Farel Company
- Legal form: SASU
- Registered office: 56 rue Carnot, 92300 Levallois-Perret, France
- SIRET: 880 701 321 00015
The data we collect
To weave a made-to-measure story, we need a few magical ingredients:
- 👤 Parent information: your email address (to send you the book) and your payment information (handled by Stripe — we never see your card numbers).
- ✨ Hero information: your child's first name, age, and photo, used to create their illustrated avatar.
We never ask for the child's postal address, phone number or surname. The less we know, the better!
How your secrets are used
Your data is used for one single purpose: creating your book.
🚫 No targeted advertising
We do not sell, rent or share your data with advertisers.
✨ Creation by secure magical technology
Our technology generates the text and the images. It is configured so that it does not "learn" from your photos. Once the image has been generated, the source photo is forgotten.
The vault (Security)
Your data is stored on secure servers in Europe. We use encryption (just like banks do) to protect all exchanges.
Access to your data is strictly limited to our technical team for service maintenance. No one else holds the key.
Retention period
We apply the principle of "Automatic Deletion" for sensitive data.
- 📸 Children's photos: deleted automatically as soon as the book is sent.
- 📘 The Book (PDF): kept for 30 days so that you can download it, then deleted (unless you ask us otherwise).
- 📧 Your email: kept so we can send you your invoices and, if you agree, our magical news.
Cookies
We love chocolate-chip cookies 🍪, but we are less fond of digital trackers.
We only use cookies that are essential to the operation of the site (to keep your session active or your basket saved). We do not use invasive third-party cookies that follow you around the internet.
Your rights
You are the king/queen of your data. In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your data.
- Rectify it if it is inaccurate.
- Request its complete erasure ("right to be forgotten").
- Withdraw your consent at any time.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — the CNIL (the French supervisory authority of the data controller) or the supervisory authority of your own country of residence.
