My book

What changes are possible on my book?

Telling a major error apart from a small detail or a change of preference.

Major errors can be reviewed

A major error can occasionally appear: an extra limb, a heavily distorted image, an unreadable page or a missing passage. You can report it to our team with the page concerned and a precise description. The team checks the problem and the options for correction depending on how far along the book is. Do not approve printing while a reported major error is still being reviewed.

Small touch-ups are not covered

We do not rework the book for a small visual inconsistency, a shade of colour, an outfit, a hairstyle, a background or an expression you would have preferred differently. A likeness you find insufficient does not qualify for a change, whether the original photo was good or hard to work with.

What counts is how serious the problem is: a detail of preference does not become a major error because you'd like to change it. If in doubt, Alfred can help you understand the difference, without promising a touch-up.

The text and the dedication

The dedication is your personal message: you can change it in the Edit tab when this feature is available. You can also edit chapter text and titles yourself when their editor is available, within the limits shown. Save your changes, then check the updated PDF. Editing the text yourself is different from having our team rewrite it: we do not rewrite the story, chapters or ending to reflect new wishes after the book has been created.

A major flaw in the text, such as a missing passage or an unreadable page, can be reported. A new preference for the storyline does not qualify for a rewrite.

Once the book is printed

Changes can no longer alter a copy that has already been made or received. A request is not a promise of a reprint. If your book is damaged or has a major defect, see the article on problems with a book you've received.
