  • Captures with no one hurt
  • A visible face under the costume

What we won't do

№ 02b · The book up close

Animals that talk to him, hands that shoot webs, extraordinary strength. Your child discovers their power and uses it to complete their mission, in the adventure you choose together.

A child in a cape who recognises their own face on the cover. A power they discover in their hands. A mission waiting for their decisions. My Superhero Adventure, the personalised book from Real Big Stories, brings this dream to life: your child becomes the main character of a story written just for them and illustrated from their own photos.

When you create the book, you choose from three stories tailored to your child's age group. For ages 3–5, a fake zookeeper, a thief on red skates and a bogus delivery man who tries to steal the whole party invite plenty of surprises. For ages 6–8, ice powers, super-strength and super-speed take on inventive burglars. From age 9, missions call for strategy too: understanding an electric suit of armour, teaming up with a rival, or defending a city where powers are being unfairly borrowed.

Each adventure has its own power, characters and ending. You choose the story that suits them best; our creative team adapts it to their name, their age and the loved ones you'd like to include. The superhero world is already built, with streets, workshops and easily recognisable locations.

Sticking a thief's skates to the ground, stopping a scooter with a wall of ice, or absorbing Doctor Steel's energy: the power exists to be used. Your child observes, tries, makes choices and carries out the decisive move. In the chase stories, the villains are captured without anyone getting hurt. The youngest children's adventures leave generous room for humour and heartwarming encounters.

The illustrations show an original costume, a clearly visible face and the key moments of their mission. You can add up to three loved ones to the adventure, depending on the story you choose. Photos guide your child's appearance; your notes help our team bring their personality and interests to life.

The 10-chapter version tells a complete adventure, from discovering the power to returning home after the mission. The 20-chapter version develops that very same story further: extra clues, attempts, encounters and relationships get more room to breathe. The ending arrives at the close of the book, after a fuller journey.

This personalised superhero book for kids is one to discover together, then return to again and again. A gift for children who are already dreaming up their costume, inventing daring feats in the back garden, and can't wait to see their own name at the heart of a real adventure.

№ 05 · FAQs

The most common questions about My Superhero Adventure — answered honestly, with nothing left out.

What adventures are available for my child's age?

Three stories are offered for each age group: 3–5, 6–8, and 9 and up. Each has its own power and mission. You choose the one you like best when creating the book; the superhero world is already set.

What's the difference between the 10-chapter and 20-chapter adventures?

Both versions tell a complete story. In 10 chapters, the mission moves straight towards its resolution. In 20 chapters, the same adventure includes more clues, attempts and encounters before it's resolved.

Could the villains or fights be scary for my child?

The intensity is matched to your child's age. Younger children outsmart the tricks of funny thieves, with help from animal friends or a spectacular power. Older children chase down burglars and foil their plans. Powers are used to protect and to stop the villains, with no injuries or graphic violence.

What are the delivery times?

Printed in France. Delivery options and dates will be confirmed before orders open in your region.

What size is the book, and how many pages does it have?

The book is A4 landscape format (29.7 × 21 cm when closed) — perfect for reading together side by side or laying flat on a table. The standard version has 10 illustrated chapters, plus an introduction and conclusion, coming to around 28 pages in total. The long version is nearly twice that, with 20 chapters and roughly 48 pages. Each chapter features a full-page illustration paired with text tailored to your child's age.

What's the print and paper quality like?

Printed on thick, premium matte paper. The hardcover is sturdy and the same high quality across all age ranges. The binding is sewn and glued to last — this is a book built to be read a hundred times, not to gather dust at the back of a drawer.

Can I make changes after placing my order?

Yes — as long as your book hasn't gone to print yet, which is usually within the first few hours after ordering. Get in touch as quickly as possible at hello@realbigstories.com with your order number and the change you need (a misspelled name, a photo to swap, a character to adjust). Once printing has started, we're unable to make any further changes.

What if I'm not happy with the result?

If something isn't right — a printing defect, a quality issue, or an illustration that doesn't look like your child — contact us as soon as possible after receiving your order at hello@realbigstories.com. We'll either reprint or give you a full refund, no questions asked. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, we make it right.

Are my photos and personal data safe?

Yes — your photos are used only to create the book. They're never shared, never sold, never used for anything else, and you can delete them anytime from your account or by simply asking us. All our providers (hosting, illustration generation, payment, printing) are fully GDPR-compliant.

How much can I personalize the book?

Far beyond just the name. Your child's face is illustrated from your photos, and appears on every page. You also choose the story world, the plot, the characters around them (family, friends, pet) and the little details of appearance. The book stays fully editable until you approve the preview: you read through the text, request any changes, and printing only starts once you're happy.
